If a container exists in Active Directory and does not exist in the backup, the container's child objects may be missing from the comparison report created with the Online Restore wizard.
Quest Software confirms that this issue exists in Recovery Manager for Active Directory version 7.1.2. The issue is planned to be resolved in subsequent maintenance releases. The report does not include information on an object if both the object and its parent container have been created after the backup creation.
This behavior occurs because current implementation of comparison algorithm displays changes in immediate child objects only. User objects in freshly created OU become distant descendants for compared objects and thus are not shown in the comparison report.
