When restoring a Contact object, the Online Restore wizard cannot restore the Contact's membership in the domain local groups that reside in other domains of the forest. This behavior occurs because Recovery Manager does not collect Cross-domain links for Contact object during backup of Active Directory.
By design of Active Directory information about domain local group is not replicated forest wide. In order to restore group membership of object in local groups of other domains Recovery Manager needs to collect Cross-domain links membership information. Currently this information is collected for User, Computer and Group classes only.
NOTE, this issue affects local groups of other domains only. To restore a Contact's membership in global or universal groups that reside in other domains, use the backup taken from the domain controller that holds the Global Catalog role.
