After upgrading to version 7.10 of Recovery Manager for AD Forest Edition you may encounter the below error when opening the Forest Recovery console and selecting either Select a Backup or Connect to Forest:
Failed to retrieve the list of the registered backups.
Method not found: Void
QuestSoftware.RecoveryManager.AD.BackupManager.ARM_AD_BackupFilterClass.set_IncludeImage(Boolean).
The file QuestSoftware.RecoveryManager.AD.BackupManager.Interop.dll does not get upgraded properly during the upgrade process.
1. Make a backup of thetwo files below:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Quest Software\RMAD\Backups.mdb
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Quest Software\RMAD\ERDiskAD.mdb
2. Rename the file belowto QuestSoftware.RecoveryManager.AD.BackupManager.Interop.dll.old:
C:\Program Files\Quest Software\Recovery Manager for Active Directory Forest Edition\QuestSoftware.RecoveryManager.AD.BackupManager.Interop.dll
3. Open Add/Remove Programs, find Quest Recovery Manager for Active Directory Forest Edition in the list and click Change
4. Click Next during the wizard and then click Repair
5. Select only Missing or corrupt files and click next and then Repair
The files belowalso do not get upgraded properly. Prior to the repair of the installation, the below files can renamed to .old to ensure that the new versions get installed:
C:\Program Files\Quest Software\Recovery Manager for Active Directory Forest Edition\Microsoft.ManagementConsole.dll
C:\Program Files\Quest Software\Recovery Manager for Active Directory Forest Edition\MmcFxCommon.dll
C:\Program Files\Quest Software\Recovery Manager for Active Directory Forest Edition\QuestSoftware.RecoveryManager.AD.ERDisk.Interop.dll
C:\Program Files\Quest Software\Recovery Manager for Active Directory Forest Edition\QuestSoftware.RecoveryManager.AD.LsaHlp.Interop.dll
