After a computer has been restored using Recovery Manager for Active Directory, logging into the domain at this computer fails with the following error:
"Windows cannot connect to the domain, either because the domain controller is down or otherwise unavailable, or because your computer account was not found. Please try again later. If this message continues to appear, contact your system administrator for assistance."
This issue can arise because the option to use the agentless method was selected in the 'Domain Access options' during the Online Restore Wizard.
By default, Active Directory does not keep SID History and the password of the Computer when these objects are deleted. In order to recover SID History and the password, the agent method must used. To use this option, at the 'Domain Access Options' screen during the Online Restore Wizard, uncheck the box:
"Use agentless method to access domain controller"
