Repository Alert: The Repository 'RepositoryName' is 80.0% full -
Description
In order to maintain proper functioning of the DVM repositories some free space must be maintained. If not enough free space is available fragmentation will occur and this will cause a slowdown in performance. What constitutes 'enough' free space depends on a number of factors and it will vary for different environments.
As a general guideline, we recommend keeping 20% free space in Rapid Recovery repositories. When a repository reaches 80% full, most likely performance won't be degraded, but it is a good time to consider expansion. When a repository is 95% full, it is very likely to have degraded performance.We have warning events at 80%, 95% and 98%. Because of the guidelines above, the warning at 80% is sent every 2 weeks; the 95% warning is sent every day. Notifications will be seen at minimum, in the Alerts section of the home page in the Web UI. In addition, you can receive notifications by email, windows event log, syslogd, toast alerts, and SNMP trap, if enabled in the Notification Groups section in the Web UI.

Cause
Alerts are generated once a repository has reached 80% used capacity. -
Resolution
Notifications:
- You can enable or disable notification of these events under the More | Notifications tab.
- Under Notification Groups, select Edit from the drop down to the right of groups needed.
- In the Edit Notification Group windows select the Enable Alerts tab.
- Select the Repository is full alert under All Alerts \ DVM Repository.
Tips to resolve Alerts:
- Extend the repository.
- Remove multiple base images if they exist in the recovery point chain.
- Shorten retention policies.
- Move protected machines to another Core.
