Subsequent virtual standby exports to VMware Workstation finishes with error if the previous incremental export failed due to the running state of the VM -
Description
Virtual Standby export to VMware Workstation fails with the below error:
Server side:
Replay.Core.Contracts.Export.ExportException: Cannot execute an export task ---> System.AggregateException: One or more errors occurred. ---> Replay.Common.VddkApi.Contracts.Exceptions.VddkApiCreateChildFailedException: Operation 'CreateChild' with diskHandle = '50798355648' childPath = 'e:\114-vmware\2635-2K08R2\disk0-snapshot.vmdk' diskType = 'VIXDISKLIB_DISK_SPLIT_SPARSE' failed with VddkApiException: The file already exists ---> Replay.Common.VddkApi.Contracts.Exceptions.VddkApiException: The file already exists
Setup:
1. Install Core, Agent.
2. Protect Agent by Core.
Steps:
1. Establish Virtual Standby export for protected machine to VMware Workstation.2. Force snapshot and wait until export is finished.3. Turn on exported VM on VMware Workstation.4. Shut down exported VM on VMware Workstation.5. Take snapshot and wait until export is finished.Expected result:
Virtual Standby export to VMware Workstation should finish successfully.
Actual result:
Once the job has failed due to 'Running' state of VM, all subsequent virtual standby export jobs to VMware Workstation finished with error even if the machine is already turned off.
Note: Should notice that the subsequent export job for each volume completed without errors on the "child tasks" pane, even thought the "status" field shows "Error".

Cause
This issue has been identified by the application developers as RR-102356. -
Resolution
This issue should be permanently fixed on version 7.0, please open a case with technical support to retrieve a patch for your specific build. -
