Exchange 2013/2016 logs on disk C are not truncating -
Description
Exchange 2016 logs in C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\Logging are taking up space and not truncated by Rapid Recovery backup. Forcing Exchange logs truncation through the Core console completes successfully. Also confirmed by Event Viewer, Applications on Exchange server. -
Resolution
The issue is an internal Exchange 2016 tracing logs that are recording Exchange functionality itself. These logs are completely different from Exchange databases' log files and not affected by backup log truncation tasks.
Please review 3rd party sources on how to maintain Exchange 2013/2016 logging. For example:
