A script performing the operation mentioned above has been prepared. The script needs at a minimum Powershell 3.0 and works with RapidRecovery 6.0.2+P-1859 and later.
The agents to be backed up need to be added to groups (labels). The label names are the days of the month when the agents need to be backed up. For instance, having the agents
server1,
server2 and
server3 and you want to backup
server1 and
server3 on the
15th of every month and
server2 on the
20th, you need to create a
group (label) called
15 and add
server1 and
server3 to it and add
server2 to a group called
20. Please note that unless suspended these server will continue their regular backup schedule and the base images (or snapshots) will be forced at the scheduled dates. To make the script perform as desired, it needs to be scheduled via task scheduler using
KB#147472The script features just one parameter: "-forcebase"
Using it will force base images. If it is absent, incremental snapshots will be attempted.
The script is attached to this KB.
