The following issues may arise when communication between the Core and the VMware Proxy service fail during opening disk handles:
The Core uses the VMware Proxy service to access a VMDK via VDDK.
The VMware Proxy will successfully execute a VDDK call. After this, if the communication between VMware Proxy and the Core fails, the disk handle is not returned to the Core.
This handle is lost and never closed since the current implementation of the Core is responsible for managing handles. As long as the disk handle remains open this disk remains locked.
