Resolution
For QoreStor it ties into the Oracle operating system and is a known issue for Oracle. This issue is not caused by QoreStor, but is native to the OS. This issue can happen on any thick or thin client, virtual or physical.
To resolve the error message “XFS: possible memory allocation deadlock in kmem_alloc” start by checking the fragmentation level. Use the frag command with –d or –f for directory or file fragmentation levels.
frag -dfrag -fTo run a defrag of the mount points, use the command:
This command will automatically defragment all XFS volumes by copying each file on each volume using temporary system space. The process runs for 2 hours, and may need to be run several times.xfs_fsrNote: The command will also not defragment files that are currently in memory.
Note: You can specify which mount point to defrag by adding the name of the mount point.
