Hot-Add backups using a VA fail with the Object Reference error
There are 2 options to resolve this problem.
1. Refresh the VA in vRanger.
a. In vRanger click on Tools and select Options
b. Click Configuration under Virtual Applicance
c. Place a check in the checkbox next to the VA you need to refresh
d. Click on Remove Button
e. Click OK on the Removing VA screeen
f. Click OK on the Confirm Delete screen (Do not place a check box in the Delete the virtual appliance from the host)
g. Click the Add button
h. Find the VA and select the VA you are adding back to vRanger
i. Type in the VA root password and click OK (If the VA will be used for the cluster also place a check in the Use as default virtual appliance for cluster check box)
j. Rerun your backup job once again
2. Redeploy a VA that does not seem to be working correctly.
a. In vRanger click on Tools and select Options
b. Click Configuration under Virtual Applicance
c. Place a check in the checkbox next to the VA you need to refresh
d. Click on Remove Button
e. Click OK on the Removing VA screeen
f. Click OK on the Confirm Delete screen (Place a check box in the Delete the virtual appliance from the host)

h. Once the VA is redeployed rerun your backup job once again
