The following error occurs on launching Toad:
System.TypeInitializationException
WORKAROUND 1:
If the IBM DB2 client is not required for other applications, then uninstall the client using Control Panel | Uninstall a Program
WORKAROUND 2:
Edit registry to include a 'Fix level' String Value:
Quest Software does not provide support for problems that arise from improper modification of the registry. The Windows registry contains
information critical to your computer and applications. Make sure you back up the registry before modifying it. For more information on the
Windows Registry Editor and how to back up and restore it, refer to Microsoft Article ID 256986 “Description of the Microsoft Windows registry”
at Microsoft Support.
1. Start | Regedit
2. Navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IBM\DB2\CurrentVersion
or
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\IBM\DB2\CurrentVersion
3. Right click 'CurrentVersion' | New | 'String Value' with value name 'Fix Level'
4. Right click 'Fix level' | Modify | set any value for 'Value Data' e.g. 100 | OK
5. File | Exit
6. Toad should now launch with no exception error.
