Rapid Recovery currently has two features that interact with Azure: Archiving and Virtual Export. Below, we will explore which storage accounts can be used with each feature.
Archiving
Archiving to Azure requires a storage account that support Blob-based containers. Storage Accounts (Classic) and Storage Accounts (Resource Manager) both have Blob-based containers and either can be used to archive recovery point data to Azure. Once you create either storage account type, you will still need to create a container for Rapid Recovery to write the archive to. For more information on how to create containers in Azure, please reference this article - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/storage/storage-dotnet-how-to-use-blobs
Virtual Export
Virtual Export to Azure also requires a Blob-based storage account containers and goes a step further in requiring Virtual Machine Management. Azure supports two types of VM management, Service Model (ASM) and Resource Manager Model (ARM) as of Rapid Recovery version 6.2.1 Resource Manager Model (ARM) is supported previous Rapid Recovery versions support Service Model (ASM) only.
