ERROR: [7439-1-125-8007054B] Unable to open object 'CN=FirstName LastName,OU=OU_Name,DC=domain,DC=com'

When performing an Active Directory Object Merge (Tool), the following error may be seen in the logs:

"ERROR: [7439-1-125-8007054B] Unable to open object 'CN=FirstName LastName,OU=OU_Name,DC=domain,DC=com'
ADsOpen/GetObject(LDAP://CN=FirstName LastName,OU=OU_Name,DC=domain,DC=com):
[8007054B] The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted."

DNS is not properly configured to accept ping requests against the domain -"domain.com" as noted in the error message. (8007054B (1355 decimal) is a Microsoft returned error for "The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted".

Resolution 1

Verify that DNS is properly configured by checking the forward and reverse lookup results and well as checking if ping requests can be accepted (from the GroupWise Migrator for Exchange console) for the "domain.com", as noted in the error message.

Resolution 2

Verify you are logged in to the migration server as the account configured in 'MNE | Edit Global Default Settings | [Active Directory]. Additionally, run LDP.EXE and try opening the problematic object.

Resolution 3

Verify that there is no AntiVirus software running on the Migrator for Notes to Exchange (MNE) migration server.
If there is any AntiVirus Software running, then make sure the item on Page 12 under the “Required for all destination Exchange target types, including Office 365” of the MFNE Quick Start Guide has been followed:
