For 5.7.x and higher without AppMonitor agent:
- Go to "Blackout" dashboard and under the "Choose Target Type", select "Advanced Search (All Types)"
- Under "Choose Blackout Targets", filter against "ProcessAvailabilityEntry"
- Expand the tree and select the process you want to blackout
- Complete the wizard
As it is not possible to identify which process is related to which host, it might be easier to modify the rule "Process Availability". In the rule scope the host name and/or specific process names can be added to exclude/include processes of specific hosts from the rule. Best approach will be to copy the original rule and work with the copy, so the original scope and rule conditions will be kept. Make sure the correct rule is enabled.
For Foglight 5.7.x and lower when using the AppMonitor agent:
- Edit the AppMonitor agent properties' Application/Process List.
- Under the Application Group, label the process uniquely so it can be distinguished easily later for blackout
- Save, deactivate, activate the agent
- Go to Blackout dashboard and under the "Choose Target Type", select "Advanced Search (All Types)"
- Under "Choose Blackout Targets", filter against AppMonitor_ProcessTotals
- Expand the tree and select the process you want to blackout
- Complete the wizard
