"Could not convert variant of type (Null) into type (OleStr)" error when open a new connection window.
Causa

Grouping by a column that contains null fields will cause this error.
Resolução

WORKAROUND:
Do not group by a column that contains null fields, or add a value to the null fields (a space or any other character will work).
STATUS:
Issue resolved in Toad 12.9, available to download from:
