Replication job fails with the following error message: “API Call failed with message: The request refers to an object that no longer exists or has never existed.”
This error occurs with Virtual Center mode jobs in environments with Virtual Center 2.5.
Follow the steps below to adjust the snapshot timeout value in the esxReplicator.Service.exe.config file:
1. First, close the vReplicator GUI and stop the vReplicator service
2. Browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\Quest Software\vRanger\Service
3. Open the Vizioncore.vRanger.Service.exe.config file and find the line <add key="SnapshotCommitRetryTimeLapseInSeconds" value="30" /
4. Change the 30 to 300 and click save.
5. Start the vReplicator job service, open the vReplicator GUI and continue with replications. If the 300 does not work you can try to increase this value.
Another possible workaround for this would be to replicate in host to host mode only and see if that resolves the issue.
