VMware backups fail in SAN mode
Disk [XX03SAN01-LUN_101] XXXXCTX01/XXXX.vmdk was not opened
Failed Reason:'You do not have access rights to this file'
The backup completes in nbd mode and fails in SAN mode . The prerequisites for SAN mode backup are met the requirement as per user guide.
When we Diagnosing virtual machine we see the below
Later upon Investigating the issue further with VMware support .
We came across issue with "VMware Inventory Service database" and had to Reset the VMware vCenter Server 5.x Inventory Service database as per VMware KB 2042200
Best is to have a case with VMware support, for such access rights to this file.
