Under NVBU 9.2 to 11, all It is currently impossible to delete a phase 2 copy created using the Duplicate secondary copy method, while leaving intact the phase 1 copy.
On the Web UI > Explore Storage > Examine Saveset > REMOVE you can only remove either the phase 1 copy or the phase 1 and the phase 2 duplicate together. The same limitation applies to the nvexpiresaveset command.
There is no way of deleting just the phase 2 leaving the phase 1 intact.
Workaround:
If possible use the Data Copy secondary copy method.
The Data Copy method creates a saveset ID and separate index for the original backup and its copy allowing you to delete either copy without influencing the other
