The underlying problem is that the logoff script is running twice due to a known Microsoft issue with local GPO logoff scripts running twice. Logoff scripts will run twice as a result of having group policy loopback processing mode enabled. The logoff script did in fact process the settings on the first logoff instance of the script but that logoff instance reset the logon completion flag in the script and then also overwrote the logoff trace from the first instance with that of the second instance. To see if group policy loopback processing is enabled, confirm that the following registry setting is present and set to 1:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\policies\microsoft\windows\system
userpolicymode=1
STATUS:
Starting in version 10.1 resolved the issue where setting Microsoft's loopback registry setting was causing the Desktop Authority logoff script to run twice. The latest version of Desktop Authority can be downloaded from here.
WORKAROUND:
See below for version 10.0 and earlier:
RESOLUTION 1:
Disable the group policy loopback processing mode if it is not necessary to have it enabled in the environment.
