1. Open the browser, enter the URL for the remote control target machine (https://computername:port).
2. After logging on and connecting, click on the "Remote Control" object in the tree on the left pane.
If the ExpertAssist Java Launcher is already installed a confirmation window will pop-up to validate the action:
Otherwise, the following message will be displayed indicating that the browser being used does not support Java applets: “Your browser does not support the Java applets technology and selected Java application will be launched using the Expert Assist Java Launcher in a separate window. Please go to the Preferences > Client page to install/repair Expert Assist client software if you experience any problems.”
The above message means that a Java applet launcher application must be installed in order to use the remote control, file transfer and chat functions.
3. Click on the “Go to Preferences > Client” button and the download page will be displayed.
4. Review the information in this window and then click on the “Download” button in order to download and save the Java applet installation file (EAJaloSetup.msi).
5. Run the EAJaloSetup.msi installation file and follow the installation wizard. The Expert Assist Java Launcher application will then be installed to the controlling machine and listed in Programs and Features. If Java Runtime Libraries are not available on this computer, the installer will try to download and install OpenJDK Runtime Platform, click OK to download and install OpenJDK.
Note: On some versions the OpenJDK installation window might be behind the main Java Launcher installation one without notice, please check if two insallation icons are shown in task bar and click on the second one to give focus to OpenJDK window.
6. Once the EA Java Launcher installation has completed, click Remote and the Remote session will be launched in a separate popup window.
