Can Collaboration Services and Migration Manager for AD be used at the same time?
Causa
QCS provides for a one way sync of AD objects and Calendar/Free busy information from a Publisher to a Subscriber as a quick solution to populate the GAL and availability information. Often Collaboration Services is used as a temporary solution until a migration is complete.
Migration Manager for AD is used for migrating objects between forests or domains. Migration involves moving Active Directory objects (users, groups, and resources) from a source domain to a target domain.
Resolução
When using Collaboration Services and Migration Manager for AD together the two products should not touch the same objects at the same time.
Before migrating into the Collaboration Services stub objects with Migration Manager for AD the stub objects in the subscribing location needed to be removed from the scope of Collaboration Services.
If you do not remove the stub objects from scope of Collaboration Services before migrating into these objects with Migration Manager for AD than a Collaboration Services sync can overwrite the objects you have migrated into.
