When mailbox is disabled but Store Management is still enabled for the mailbox, ESM service will generate the following error:

The attempt to log on to the Microsoft Exchange Server computer has failed.
There was an unhandled exception in this application
If a disabled user account that is associated with an Exchange Server mailbox does not have the Associated External Account user rights and the msExchMasterAccountSid property, Exchange cannot enable a different user (ESM) to logon to the mailbox
To disable Store Management for the affected user do the following:
- Launch Archive Manager website
- Login as Administrator
- Click on Mailboxes
- Locate the mailboxes that are references in the Event of the application log
- Clear the "Enable Store Management" checkbox
- Click on Update
If there is a requirement to enable store management for the mailbox whose AD account is disabled then do the following:
- Open Active Directory Users and Computers.
- On the View menu, click Advanced Features.
- View the properties of a user.
- Click the Exchange Advanced tab, click Mailbox Rights.
- In the Allow column, make sure that the Full mailbox access and Associated external account check box is selected for the Self account.
