In Mailbox Scan status, Mailboxes are showing the error :Session.OpenMsgStore: MAPI error 80040111 Error The information store could not be opened. Component: MAPI 1.0 Context: 00000286 on all mailboxes with archive.
- Open a mailbox .wlog and locate the following line:
ProxyServer=Outlook.domain.com
For information on locating the log for a mailbox please refer to the following solution HERE.
- Open an Internet browser on the Archive Manager server and browse to the ablove URL and append /owa, e.g HTTPS://Outlook.domain.com/OWA.
If a certificate error is seen then the please refer to KB 138049.
If no certificate error is seen then perform the following:
- Log onto the Archive Manager server as ArchiveMGR_ESM
- Stop the Archive Manager dataload and Exchange Store Manager services.
- If running Outlook as the MAPI client open Control Panel | Mail and remove all the profiles that start with the name "~Aftermail" or "~ArchiveManager"
- If running MAPI/CDO and no Mail icon can be seen in Control Panel the profiles will need to be removed from the registry under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles

- Once the profiles have been removed, restart the services and monitor the Mailbox scan status for errors.
