The following product notification applies to version 8.8 of Active Administrator. Two critical issues have been identified in this version related to the Auditing component. Active Administrator for AD Health is not impacted.
How does this affect me?
Issue 1: All audit events will mistakenly be purged from the Active Administrator database when an “Archive Only” scheduled job is run that was created in previous versions of Active Administrator. The time period specified in the “Archive events older than” option in the scheduling dialog is not enforced when purging the events from the live database after the archive is done, causing all events to be purged.
New “Archive Only” jobs created in Active Administrator 8.8 are not impacted. “Purge” or “Purge then Archive” jobs created in any version of Active Administrator are not impacted.
Issue 2: Alert notification emails are not being sent when expected on newly generated domain controller events due to an operating system version number mismatch in Active Administrator. Events generated from the Active Administrator Foundation (AFS) server are not impacted.
Workaround
Issue 1: Delete any “Archive Only” jobs that were created in prior versions of Active Administrator and create new jobs in Active Administrator 8.8 immediately after upgrade. This will also ensure that the default daily scheduled “Archive Only” job does not run.
Issue 2: There is no workaround for notification emails issue.
Status
Fixes for these issues will be included in Active Administrator 8.8.1. This release is scheduled to be available in the next few weeks, and we will notify you when it's ready for download.
