KACE Systems Management Appliance Product Notification

Upgrade to 10.0 by February 1, 2020 to ensure continuous operation of your patching functionality.


Dear KACE SMA (K1000) Customer, 

We wanted to make you aware of some enhancements and improvements to patching within the KACE Systems Management Appliance (SMA). The SMA has historically used a 3rd party patch feed to supply patches for both Windows and Mac.  Starting with version 10.0 of the SMA (Released in September 2019), we have replaced this feed with the new KACE Patch Catalog.

Action Required:

Upgrade to SMA 10.0 by February 1, 2020 or lose your patching functionality. Support for the previous 3rd party patch feed is ending. The new and improved patch feed will require upgrades to at least SMA 10.0 for both the appliance and agents. 

Upgrade Notes:

Before beginning the upgrade, please ensure you have a backup of your appliance, and that it has been transferred to a location off your appliance (for example, to an FTP or Samba share). For details and instruction on successfully upgrading, please be sure to refer to Knowledge Base article 311910.
