NetVault Product Notification

Critical Alerts


Last week, a NetVault Backup 11.1 critical product notification was sent regarding a defect that may render tape drive or VTL created backups unrecoverable when those backups spanned multiple tapes.

Resolution / Status

A new release has been posted to the NetVault Backup Support Portal Downloads site that resolves this outstanding issue.

If you have previously installed NetVault Backup 11.1 server and/or client components, please upgrade those modules to release number If you have previously installed NetVault Backup 11.1 Application Plug-ins, those plug-ins are not impacted by the defect and do not require reinstallation.

Any backups created with NetVault Backup 11.1 that were impacted by the defect are in an unrecoverable state. We recommend recreating new backups using the latest NetVault Backup 11.1 version as soon as possible.

We again regret this interruption in service and have taken measures to ensure this type of defect will not occur again.
