Customer receives an error during the repository database installation / configuration:
"The user specified does not have sufficient privileges".
In the installer.log, there is an EXCEPTION with a message:
"The database operation failed".
Performance Analysis for SQL Server installer is looking for the same credentials as those of the owner of the Quest Performance Repository database. So even if a credential has SYSADMIN privileges, it will error out with the same error above.
To find out the owner of Quest Performance Repository database, perform the following:
1. Open SQL Server Management Studio, and connect to the instance where Quest Performance Repository database is resided.
2. Right click on Quest Performance Repository database, click on Properties | Files
3. Look for Owner field - this will be the credentials needed during the repository database installation / configuration.
4. The user can change the owner by clicking on Files, and it will allow the user to change the owner on this screen.
