I am attempting to size the hardware required for PA in our environment using quest doc "StealthCollect Hardware Guidelines and Considerations". The following except is from your documentation.
'Our example environment consists of 10 identical servers. Each server is running a single
database instance and exhibits the following behavior pattern:
CPU Utilization: 60% x 2 CPUs = 120%
RAM Utilization: 400 MB= 0.4 GB'
My question is: CPU Utilization is calculated if you have two CPU's and they are utilized an average of 60% of the time? And RAM utilization, does this mean the amount of RAM on the box or the size of the SGA.
Current I am taking the average on the CPU and RAM as the amount of memory on the box.
With regard to the example environment mentioned above (see Hardware Requirements - Analytic Approach section, page 10 of the "StealthCollect Hardware Guidelines and Considerations" document), the 400 MB of RAM represents the amount of memory the monitored Oracle instance is actually consuming, and in this example the average CPU utilization is 60% (each server has 2 processors).
