After restoring a group in On Demand Recovery for Azure Active Directory the group has a new Object ID
An Azure Active Directory group has been deleted and then restored using On Demand Recovery for Azure Active Directory, the restored group has a different Object ID than the original group and now no longer has same access it had prior to the restore.
This occurs because Azure Active Directory groups are not stored in the recycle bin after they have been deleted, they are hard deleted. The group can then not be restored using the same object ID. The group must be recreated with the a new object ID.
Enhancement ID RMAZ-127 has been submitted to the Product Team to investigate a feature which would allow the product to assign the same permissions to the restored group as it had prior to the deletion. This will be investigated for a future release.
