SharePoint Online and OneDrive enforce naming restrictions for files and folders. When a file or folder contains unsupported characters, the migration tool cannot create the item in the destination environment.
Common invalid characters include:
Review the affected item and remove any unsupported characters from the file or folder name.
Sometimes the issue may not be the file name itself but another folder within the path structure. Review all parent folders and verify that none contain unsupported characters.
Excessively long paths can generate similar migration failures. If the path is approaching SharePoint's URL length limitations, consider shortening folder names and rerunning the migration.
