ODMAD: during workstation migration win11, the user profile is affected and cannot click on start menu (4383926)

During workstation migration to Windows 11 using Quest On Demand Migration for Active Directory (ODMAD), the user profile becomes unusable after logon. The Start menu is unresponsive, and Microsoft Store (UWP) applications fail to launch or function.

The ReACL profile was configured to exclude the majority of required registry keys (e.g., Temp_S-1-5-21*), resulting in an incomplete or inconsistent user profile migration and breaking Windows 11 shell and UWP app functionality.

To resolve the issue, the workstation and user profile must be rolled back and the migration re-performed:

1. Roll back the affected workstation to the source domain.
2. Restore the user profile to use the original source SID.
3. Verify that the user can successfully log in and that the profile and Start menu functionality are restored.
4. Correct the Device ReACL profile configuration (remove improper registry exclusions, such as Temp_* keys).
5. Re-run the Cutover using the corrected profile.

Notes:

• This resolution applies only to machines where the issue has already occurred and the user profile is corrupted.
• New Cutover operations will not be affected once the Device ReACL exclusion list is corrected.
