After running a Power BI Workspace Discovery, the discovery task indicates that a large number of workspaces were discovered (for example, 60 workspaces), while only a smaller number of workspaces appear in the ODM user interface and are available for migration.
This may lead customers to believe that the discovery process failed, that some workspaces were not imported correctly, or that ODM is not displaying all discovered workspaces.
This is expected behavior.
The Power BI discovery process is designed to identify all workspaces within the environment, regardless of whether they are supported for migration. The discovery results and event logs therefore include both supported and unsupported workspace types.
However, only workspace types that are currently supported by ODM are displayed in the user interface and made available for migration. Unsupported workspace types are discovered and reported but are not shown in the migration UI, because they cannot be migrated.
No action is required.
This behavior is by design and does not indicate a discovery failure.
To determine which workspace types are supported for migration, review the ODM documentation for Power BI migrations. Only supported workspace types will be displayed in the UI and available for migration.
