A customer encountered issues while configuring domain verification and DNS records for On Demand Migration using GoDaddy as their DNS provider.

During the setup process, the required DNS records (such as TXT records for domain verification) were not being properly recognized, preventing successful validation of the domain.

The issue is typically caused by incorrect or incomplete DNS configuration in GoDaddy. Common causes include:

• DNS records not being added correctly (incorrect name, value, or type).
• DNS propagation delays after adding or updating records.
• Conflicts with existing DNS entries.
• Incorrect formatting of TXT records required for domain verification.

These issues prevent the migration platform from validating domain ownership.

To resolve the issue, perform the following steps:

1. Verify DNS Record Configuration
   • Log in to GoDaddy DNS management.
   • Ensure the required TXT records are added exactly as provided (correct name, value, and type).
2. Check for Formatting Errors
   • Confirm there are no extra spaces, missing characters, or incorrect prefixes in the TXT record.
3. Allow Time for DNS Propagation
   • Wait for DNS changes to propagate (can take up to 24–48 hours in some cases).
4. Validate DNS Records
   • Use DNS lookup tools to confirm that the TXT records are publicly visible.
5. Remove Conflicting Records
   • Ensure there are no duplicate or conflicting TXT records that may interfere with verification.
6. Retry Domain Verification
   • Once DNS records are confirmed, retry the domain verification process in On Demand Migration.
