Migration from a particular source tenant in a project is complete and the requirement is to remove all the Exchange Online Groups, Transport Rules and Connectors from the Tenant. This also includes removal of the tenant from the Domain Rewrite Project; the following procedure needs to be followed. This will need to be scheduled out of hours as domain rewrite for any other participating tenants will be paused until the process is complete.
1. Enter Setup in your Domain Rewrite Project
2. Select the Header – Email Address Rewriting
3. Select to Disable Domain Rewrite, then Select Next
4. Select Next to proceed
5. Select the X to Skip Discovery
6. ODM will now proceed to Disable Domain Rewrite in all the tenants, this could take up to an hour. Please check that all Quest ODM rules are removed from the tenant before continuing.
7. When that has been completed then go back into the Project Setup and select Tenants
8. Deselect the Tenant that you want to remove from the project and then select Next
9. Click Next through all settings to ensure that your Environment and Domain Pairs are correct after the removal of the tenant. When you get back to the “Share Domain between tenants page”. Select the Domain Rewrite Setup that you had configured previously and select Next.
10. Confirm that your certificates are correct and click next until you are back to the main Project Setup Screen. You will see that Email Address Rewriting is enabled.
11. Skip Discovery on the next screen by selecting the X
12. ODM will now re-enable Domain Rewrite on the remaining tenants. This will take up to an hour for all the ODM Groups, Transport Rules and Connectors to be added back to the Tenants. When this has been done all acounts enabled will resume sending email as the rewritten SMTP domain.
