After migrating a Microsoft Teams channel using On Demand Migration for Teams (ODMT), you may notice that channel messages appear in an incorrect or reversed order in the target Teams environment.
This behaviour is due to a change in the Microsoft Graph API, which no longer preserves the documented message ordering based on the last modified date of the root message and its replies.
To mitigate this issue, ODMT now uses the root message creation date to determine message order during migration.
The underlying Graph API behaviour has been reported to Microsoft under Support Ticket #2510200040007121.
ODMT is unable to correct the order of channel messages on the target post-migration. To correct the message order in the target Team Channel(s), follow these steps:
Quest is deploying a change today which will be manually apply the order to the migration so the order is not reversed, however, Quest does not have the ability to see who and how many migrations have been affected by this.
