A customer requested the ability to exclude specific message classes from mailbox migrations (e.g., IPM.EnterpriseVault.Shortcut, IPM.Note.EnterpriseVault.,etc.). At present, this feature is not available in ODM, and the tool will try to migrate such items if they exist in the mailbox.
This is a product limitation. ODM supports filtering by:
Item type (Mail, Calendar, Contacts, Tasks/Notes, Recoverable Items)
Folder inclusion/exclusion
Date range
Filtering by message class is not part of the current functionality.
Workarounds available today:
Use Enterprise Vault tools/policies to remove or restore shortcuts in the source before migration.
Exclude folders if the undesired items reside in clearly named folders.
Enhancement request:
An internal enhancement request (ODMEM-I-243) has been logged so the product team can review whether message-class filtering should be considered for a future release.
