After migrating a Microsoft Teams environment, certain private and shared channels were found to be missing in the destination.This issue affected only channels created after the team was initially provisioned.
The original migration task only included private and shared channels that existed at the time the team was first provisioned.
Any channels created after that provisioning were not detected and therefore excluded from the migration.
To resolve this issue and ensure all channels are included in the migration, follow these steps:
Reprovision the Team
This action will update the team's metadata and ensure all current private and shared channels are discovered.
Re-initiate the Migration
After reprovisioning is complete, rerun the migration task. This will capture all previously missed channels.
Note: Once reprovisioning is complete, notify the migration or support team to proceed with the next steps.
