When migrating devices from one Active Directory (AD) domain to another, users may encounter issues with Windows Hello for Business (WHFB) settings. Specifically, fingerprint and facial recognition data may not be migrated.

This issue occurs because Windows Hello for Business stores biometric data (e.g., fingerprints and facial recognition) in an encrypted folder that is tied to the original user profile. During the migration, this encrypted data cannot be reassigned to the new user profile.
Unfortunately, processing and reassigning such encrypted folders is not supported.
Users must manually re-enroll their biometric credentials (fingerprint and facial recognition) after the migration to the new domain.
