ODMAD : ReACL File Share on NAS Device with Error-CreateFile-A required privilege is not held by the client
Description
When we try to ReACL the File Share on a NAS device we get an Error that complains about privilege not held by the client. Error: CreateFile: A required privilege is not held by the client
Cause
Some 3rd party NAS devices like NASUNI or Isilon (but not limited to) have proprietary permissions. As an example, they do not have a Local Administrators Group.
Resolution
There are two possible workarounds:
Disable System ACLs
Uncheck the "Security ACLs" option in the ReACL Profile:
Grant SeSecurityPrivilege
Assign the SeSecurityPrivilege permission on the Nasuni File Share to the account being used for processing, while keeping the "Security ACLs" option enabled.
