ODMAD : ReACL File Share on NAS Device with Error-CreateFile-A required privilege is not held by the client -
Description
When we try to ReACL the File Share on a NAS device we get an Error that complains about privilege not held by the client.
Error: CreateFile: A required privilege is not held by the client -
Cause
Some 3rd party NAS devices like NASUNI or Isilon (but not limited to) have proprietary permissions.
As an example, they do not have a Local Administrators Group. -
Resolution
There are two possible workarounds:
Disable System ACLs
- Uncheck the "Security ACLs" option in the ReACL Profile:
Grant SeSecurityPrivilege
- Assign the SeSecurityPrivilege permission on the Nasuni File Share to the account being used for processing, while keeping the "Security ACLs" option enabled.
- Uncheck the "Security ACLs" option in the ReACL Profile:
