ODMAD: How to check if device agent can communicate with the backend API?
Description
Device Agent may not register and logs indicate communication issues with the backend. How to check if device agent can communicate with the backend API?
Resolution
There are several things to check, if backend for device agent is reachable:
Check if DNS is resolving addresses like adm.<region>.odmad.quest-on-demand.com where <region> could be ca or us, etc. depending on Org region
Check if ports 80, 443, 3030 are open in firewall
Open PowerShell and run the following command (for example): Invoke-RestMethod -Method GET http://adm.ca.odmad.quest-on-demand.com/cache/v1/ping
If response is in error red, it means that device agent won't be able to communicate
The successful response should result in number, like 20.12.13.xxxx
