How duplication is handled in ODM email migration?

If you re-migrate mailbox content to the target, to pick up missing or updated items, will duplicate records be created?

Concern over having duplicate records on target Tenant from migration.

If you are migrating your e-mails to a different folder, ODM will recopy the content as is, and therefore you will have duplicate items on your target Tenant.

If you are migrating to the same location, missing/older items will be updated only.

If you are using a Date Range filer for the migration, mails will NOT be synchronized.

ODM will "watermark" migrated email items to prevent duplicates during re-migration. However, if source or target emails will be moved into the different folder between migrations, duplication will happen.
