Teams Migrate Task Adds Owners/Members Before Content Migration is Completed -
Description
We provisioned a Team and ran a migrate task where they chose to migrate all content plus they also enabled the checkbox to migrate membership. We were surprised to find that the task added target owners/members before content migration was complete.
The owner/member migration is supposed to happen at the very end of the task after all the content has migrated. -
Cause
Software Defect 364517: Ought to Migrate membership at end of steps in migration task when multiple option selected
When migrating MS Teams with all options selected, user migration happens before channel post migration.Private channels nees to add members, so due to that case we cannot membership migration at the very end. It will be after other things but has to be done before channel otherwise we keep on getting resource is unavailable and retry after 3 minutes -
Resolution
WORKAROUND
Perform the MS Teams migration in multiple migration tasks with different options selected each time. And your owner/member migration done after other migration options have been selected.
STATUS
Fixed in Aug.02 2022 ODM product update.
