Dirsync Workflows stuck in Pending status intermittently -
Description
Multiple AD user migration workflows are either stuck on 'Pending' for a long time before the status is changed to 'Running' and/or the workflows intermittently take a longer time to complete.
The same workflow takes two hours to complete vs. 15 minutes while migrating a batch of 10~15 user accounts.
This has been recently observed from past 3 days. The workflow was taking an unprecedented amount of time to complete, but once it was resubmitted, it was completed in approx. 15 to 30 minutes. -
Cause
The Environment Discovery schedule interval is set to often (hourly).
Workflows will not run while an Environment Discovery is running. The Environment discovery is for the Active Directory schema and Organizational Units and does not discover objects like the other modules within our product. This type of information should not change often.

Resolution
Stop the current Discovery to allow the workflows to run.
Increase the Discover schedule interval to at least once per day (if not longer) via Environments | Source Local | Settings | Discovery
Note: An Environmental Discovery should only be run once a day at most.
