General Support for NetApp ONTAP 8.1.1 7-Mode by our NetVault: Backup NDMP Client Plugin and SMTT 7.6.107 Plugin with Block Level Incremental Plugin support respectively.
If you are not severely affected by the issue that this hotfix/patch addresses, it is recommended that you install the next full release of NetVault: Backup that includes this hotfix/patch.

This hotfix/patch should only be applied if you are experiencing the following situation:
This patch should be applied to any NetVault: Backup version 8.6.3 with NDMP Client version 7.6.7 to add native support for the NetApp ONTAP 8.1.1 7-Mode including Block Level Incremental support for the SnapMirror to Tape Plugin 7.6.107.

Installing the Device Template File (pch_ONTAP811-1-1-5-0.npk)
1. From the machine acting as the NetVault Server, launch the GUI and access the Client Management window by clicking either of the Client Management buttons in the command toolbar (or select the Client Management command from the Administration pull-down menu).
2. Right-click on the NetVault machine configured as the Backup Server in the Clients frame and select Install Software from the pop-up menu.
3. Navigate to the location of the Template file software (i.e., the “pch_ONTAP811-1-1-5-0.npk” file). Select the file and click on Open to begin the installation process.
4. Once installation has completed, a successful installation message will appear in the Install Software dialog box.
5. With this, the template software has been successfully installed and the device can now be successfully added to the NetVault Server for use.
To determine if this hotfix/patch is installed:
1. From the machine acting as the NetVault Server, launch the GUI and access the Client Management window by clicking either of the Client Management buttons in the command toolbar (or select the Client Management command from the Administration pull-down menu).
2. Right-click on the NetVault machine configured as the Backup Server in the Clients frame and select Properties from the pop-up menu.
3. Click on the Installed Software Tab.
4. Look for the NetApp ONTAP 8.1.1 Support Pack description to verify installation.
