Unable to drill down on Teradata backups in restore window after upgraded Netvault from 7.1.0 > 7.1.1 and Teradata plugin from 7.1.5 > 9.9.
Symptoms:
Customer unable to drill down on Teradata backups in restore window but can see the save sets in the restore window and media manager.
Verified this was Teradata specific restore problem
Rescanned tapes no change
Removed media database and rescanned a tape with complete backup including index on and we had the same problem.
Customer Informed us that Netvault had been upgraded from 7.1.0 > 7.1.1 and Teradata plugin from 7.1.5 > 9.9. Checked Master and client Teradata systems versions and found that all clients had been upgraded but the master had not. Suspected this may be a compatibility problem so ran the following test to prove the point.
Backed up a Teradata backup from master Teradata system to master Teradata system and we could now drill down in the restore window on the new backup.
Removed tape from library and then put it back, rescanned the tape and the index on new backup was still ok, so we are not reading the NVdatabase index and we can still drill down from restore window on the new backup but not on original back.
Repeated this test with a backup from Teradata client and the original problem was observed.
