Files are susccessfully backed up from an XSAN volume.
While restoring these same files back to their original location, the restore job finishes with multiple warnings:
/Volumes/XsanVolume/Archive/reports: Failed to set ACL : Operation not permitted
This is caused by the permission management policy on the XSAN volumes.
Essentially NetVault tries to restore the needed files and their metadata,
however the Xsan doesn't allow the netvault user to set permissions on the files and directories.
Disabling ACL management would allow for the restore to complete successfully.
1) Disable ACLs:
sudo fsaclctl -p /path/to/your/volumes/ -d
2) Restore the files
3) Enabled ACLs:
sudo fsaclctl -p /path/to/your/volumes/ -e
4) Alternatively: this means the netvault user is not allowed to chmod items on that volume.
Make sure the user running the netvault process is part of the root/admins group on the Xsan.
