How to install and configure a virtual client for a SQL cluster envirionement?
1- Have the same version of Netvault installed on the physical nodes in the sql cluster. This version should be the same as that of the backup server or lower (not a higher version).
2- Download the latest APM of the SQL Server and copy it in the netvault\packages\standard directory of the backup server.
3- On the backup server, launch the "client management" window.
4- On the menu at the top, select Cluster and "create virtual client"
5- Select the sql servers (physical nodes) in the eligible client list and move them accross. These should be your sql servers in the cluster
6- Select the SQL APM in the drop menu on the right
7- Name the Virtual Client as desired
8- Insert your cluster virtual client
9 - Select OK
10- Go to the backup window of the Netvault management console
11- Double click on Virtual client you have created (should be in yellow)
12- Righ clickt and configure the sql apm (insert the credential)
12- You should now be able to browse and select the database for backup
