It is not possible to exclude a drive from within the VMware plugin when backing up in Image mode because the backup type is as stated an Image of the VM-system.
A workaround is that netvault VMware plugin does not backup Independent disks so if the drive is made independent it will not be backed up
1/ power off the VMsystem
2/ edit the setting on the VMsystem
3/ select the disk you don’t want to backup
4/ select option independent. This means the disk will not be snapshotted and therefore not backed up by the plugin.
