How to backup a QNAP NAS device?
Some NAS devices use an NDMP Protocol for the communication and can therefore use our NDMP Plugin.
All the supported NAS/Filer and NAS/Filer Operating Systems that we support are in the NAS and NDMP Compatibility Guide on the following link under the Documentation tab:

QNAP is unfortunately not listed on the above supported guide and QNAP don't use an NDMP Protocol either.
So instead we setup a network share on the QNAP device and made sure that the shared folder has full permissions to access for backup and restore jobs.
Then used the Filesystem Plugin - Network Share function to point to that QNAP device.
